The Song Remains the Same (Me, Snoop, Tupac and Kamala)

A sentence I never thought I'd write.....Kamala Harris and I have something in common.

Apparently during the summer, Kamala Harris was asked if she ever smoked pot in college or law school - and what music she listened to while inhaling.   Harris answered  “Oh yeah, definitely Snoop. Tupac for sure.”   Apparently, that timeline is a little bit shaky because Harris graduated years before Snoop or Tupac released their debut albums. Harris graduated from Howard University in 1986 and law school in 1989.    I am not faulting Kamala at all.  We suffer from the same affliction - putting the wrong music in a memory.

I swear I can put The Cure as the soundtrack of my college years.  And yes, they were around during that time - but Pictures of You, Friday I'm in Love and Lullaby came out years after I graduated.   Yet I can place those songs in some pretty great memories.   (Maybe not as good as Kamala's though.)

I think it is safe to assume we had different tastes in music.

It's Tinglng, Dammit!

I'm doing a little science project/product review. I have extremely thin lips - nothing new - they've always been thin.  Must be all that talking all my life.  Truly the only skinny thing about me.     I'm all about better living though science - so I am currently trying a hydrating lip plumper. I chose Grande Lips simply because it was in a salon, it was available, and I didn't have to go online and order it.  Did I mention I was lazy?   I went with Clear tone, that way I wasn't cornered into one color. Directions read to apply it twice a day to clean, dry lips for 30 days.  After application I am then free to apply throughout the day with any combinations of other lip products, or alone. This is my lips this morning before applying the plumper. This is after. There was a slight tingling sensation.  It's working dammit! "Don't be alarmed if you feel a slight tingling sensation; that how you know that...

There's a Quest for Answers...Aldi vs Girl Scout Cookies

Tagalongs are my favorite Girl Scout cookie.  Each year I happily and willingly spend a lot of money on a box of 14 cookies.  They are only available once a year  - so totally worth the indulgence.  My favorite part of eating them is scraping the peanut butter goodness with my teeth. I had sampled the Aldi brand before and thought they were pretty good.  Tagalongs are delicious and this was a great $.99 treat in lieu of a Girl Scout cookie.    At least that is what I told myself.   Bonus, I could also scrape this peanut butter with my teeth. But, which is the better cookie?  How could we ever know?   I had never eaten them together, as I had never considered wasting a Girl Scout cookie to eat a store bought cookie of the same variety.   I had never faced such a conundrum.  Armed with only a degree in journalism and a few hours to kill, I knew I had to get the answer. What better way to get to the bottom of this t...
